The opportunity
GMEC Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced, driven and commercially minded Electrical Contracts Manager to join its management team and lead the development, performance and growth of the electrical engineering and industrial maintenance division.
This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for sourcing and winning new work, estimating and quoting, delivering profitable projects, managing customer relationships and leading the electrical workforce. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of a department, not simply someone who manages individual jobs.

Principal responsibilities
* Lead and develop the electrical engineering and maintenance division, setting clear operational, commercial and workforce standards.
* Identify new customers and opportunities; develop existing accounts and secure repeat work, planned maintenance agreements and electrical projects.
* Complete site surveys, scopes, labour and material estimates, technical proposals and quotations; actively follow up enquiries to win orders.
* Manage contracts from enquiry and award through planning, procurement, labour allocation, installation, testing, commissioning, handover and invoicing.
* Monitor project costs, quoted versus actual hours, variations, margins and cash-generating completion; address issues early.
* Plan and coordinate electricians, apprentices and subcontractors across multiple customer sites, including reactive and planned works.
* Lead, coach and develop the electrical team; set expectations for productivity, quality, attitude, accountability and safe working.
