Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Access in London, you are part of the US origination team working with the head of team and another part-time experienced team member. The team is responsible for all aspects of EMEA corporate access event origination and execution for US companies. The team works closely with the origination team in New York and the broader Access team in London. There are many different aspects to this role and plenty of scope to develop, learn and add value.
The role involves: –
• Supporting the team leader in all aspects of US roadshow origination to ensure the annual targets are achieved in both numbers of roadshows and their destinations.
• Constantly interacting with company Investor Relations (IR) teams as well as the sales teams (US & Europe), analysts and other Access team members.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with IR’s across the whole market of US listed companies. Keeping excellent database records of people and interactions that can shared across the firm. The sell cycle of a roadshow can be a long one and keeping accurate details of around 500 ongoing corporate relationships requires great attention to detail.
• Working with corporates to build schedules for often complex multi-layer roadshows which both meet their needs and maximise economics. Being able to effectively communicate these plans internally and to delegate them to sales and logistics team colleagues will be a vital part of this role.
• Develop relationships with sales colleagues such that we can propose achievable itineraries for companies. Develop confidence to be able confirm roadshows with IR’s so we can move forward to executing them. Establishing trust with IR’s is an important part of facilitating their roadshow.
• Developing awareness of suitable corporates to target for roadshows through monitoring research coverage, feedback from sales and analysts and building market knowledge.
• Developing knowledge of the client base across Europe to be able speak authoritatively to corporate IR’s about the meaningful investors in each market as well as their appetite for Access.
• Once the event is live liaising with sales, analysts, logistics team to ensure that the roadshow is being executed to the highest standard.
• Developing excellent Tier 1 (CRM) system skills to be able to prepare analysis of past events, future events and ongoing IR discussions that may be taking place elsewhere in the firm (e.g. in the US or with analysts).
• Pitching companies for roadshows in Europe and other regions including US, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, Middle East and APAC.
• Meeting companies when in London and accompanying them to meetings when necessary.
• Travelling to see companies and pitching them roadshow opportunities.
• Assisting in writing and producing a quarterly newsletter.
