About: Established in 2005, GMC Events expanded to GMC International in 2021, delivering exceptional live events across the UK and internationally. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our growing team and help us deliver high-quality events.

Role Overview: GMC Events is recruiting an Internal Traffic Manager to manage efficient traffic flow within the event site. This successful candidate will be a polite and clear communicator, ensuring sensitive areas around the site remain free from congestion and the grounds remain free from damage. You will be working as part of the wider site team and will lead a small team of four, with constant communication via radio throughout the duration of the event lifecycle. This position is required to support production of the Brockwell Live Summer Festival Series. Reporting into the Site Management team, you will have proven experience in a similar role and be a confident team leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onsite role, primarily based at Red Gate.
  • Main point of contact for all incoming vehicles through Red Gate (internal).
  • Work closely with security and the site office / site management team to manage all vehicle movements around and across the site.
  • Check incoming vehicle cargo & destination onsite.
  • Ensure all drivers are briefed on entry of the site safety rules upon arrival.
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure vehicles are expected and direct them to the correct destination.
  • Oversee delivery schedule and expected arrivals with the Site Office Manager.
  • Lead a team of Internal Traffic Coordinators to ensure smooth vehicle movements around site with no delays.
  • Ensure no unauthorised vehicles enter the site.
  • Inform pedestrians of any vehicle movements if they are using the public pathways across site.
  • No driving on the grass unless essential; no overtaking off the trackway; be mindful not to damage trees; adhere to the site speed limit etc.

  • Able to assert authority while remaining calm.
  • Comfortable in busy environments.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Friendly and able to work well as part of a large team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Confident, assertive and clear communicator, both in person and on the radio.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate team.
  • Ability to engage in manual labour tasks such as lifting and carrying when required, as well as being on one’s feet most of the day.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in large-scale or greenfield events.
  • Committed to Health & Safety and protecting the natural beauty of the event site.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changes as they arise.

Role Specific Information:

  • Travel to and from Site – GMC will cover travel expenses to and from site. Options to be discussed with the successful candidate.
  • Onsite Accommodation – accommodation will be provided. This will be in a caravan or suitable tent. Options will be discussed with the successful candidate.
  • Meals Onsite – 3 meals per day will be provided on‑site whilst working. This will be in crew catering or a buy‑out during early build / late de‑rig. All dietary requirements catered for. On days off no food will be supplied.

Physical Description of Work:

This role is an on‑site work at our events, with desk work, and some physically active work, involving some moving and lifting, required in both settings. A number of our events take place on greenfield sites and the role requires someone to move around independently and extensively.
