A well-established, London-based main contractor is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their Special Works division, focusing on passive fire protection and refurbishment works. The division has experienced substantial growth and has ambitious plans for future development.
Role Overview
You will support the Head of Special Works and oversee the delivery of multiple contracts ranging from 25k to 1m. Key responsibilities include:
- Contract administration and negotiation
- Procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Cost-value reconciliation
- Processing and agreement of monthly valuations and final accounts
- Contract performance monitoring and KPI reporting
- Ensuring safety, quality, and commercial targets are achieved
Required Experience
- Proven experience managing complex multi-trade projects
- Background in refurbishment, fit-out, DDA, FRA, and passive fire protection works
- Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of contract governance
- Capable of managing multiple teams and subcontractors across several live sites
Qualifications & Skills
- NVQ Level 5-7 in Construction or Surveying (or equivalent)
- SMSTS certification
- CSCS Black Card
- GCSE Grade 5 / C or above in Maths, English, and IT
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership abilities
