We are looking for a reliable, multi-skilled Handyperson / Site Operative to join a busy school refurbishment project in Central London. This is a bridge role between the labouring team and skilled trades, helping keep the project moving by picking up the smaller works and scope gaps that sit between different trades.

The Role

  • You will be working as part of the site team, carrying out a variety of general building, maintenance and making-good tasks.
  • Typical duties will include:
    • General builders works and minor construction tasks
    • Minor repairs and maintenance
    • Installing and forming service holes / access openings
    • Making good and remedial works
    • Basic carpentry and general fixing
    • Assisting trades where required
    • Picking up small works and tasks that fall between different trades
    • General snagging and finishing works
    • Keeping work areas tidy and safe
    • Working closely with site management and the wider project team

About You

  • Experienced working as a Handyperson, Multi-Skilled Operative, Maintenance Operative or similar
  • Practical and able to turn their hand to a variety of tasks
  • Comfortable working on a busy construction or refurbishment site
  • Able to work independently and use their initiative
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
  • Flexible in their approach and happy to help wherever needed
  • Able to communicate effectively with trades, labourers and site management

A construction/refurbishment background is preferred, along with experience of general builders works, repairs and making-good. CSCS card essential.

Project & Hours

This is a temporary position running through to late autumn, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, on a busy school refurbishment project in Central London.
