Are you an experienced Van Driver or Flat Bed Driver looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent?

GM Recruitment, a specialist construction recruitment agency, is recruiting on behalf of one of our established construction clients in London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, professional team, with the successful candidate offered a permanent position following a successful temporary probation period.

We're looking for a reliable, hardworking driver who takes pride in their work, has a strong awareness of health and safety, and enjoys working as part of a team supporting construction projects across London and the surrounding areas.

Role

You’ll play an important part in keeping construction projects running smoothly by transporting materials, equipment and waste safely and efficiently between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
  • Delivering and offloading materials to construction sites.
  • Collecting, transporting and disposing of waste materials where required.
  • Ensuring all loads are safe and secure before transport.
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, duties and stock movements.
  • Monitoring the location and condition of plant and equipment.
  • Working closely with site managers and colleagues to meet operational requirements.
  • Following all Health & Safety and environmental procedures.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable driving duties as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Full & clean UK driving licence (Category B or C1).
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety within a construction environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering to construction sites.
  • Knowledge of plant and material handling.
