GM Performance Power Units is seeking a highly skilled ERS Assembly Technician to support the assembly, servicing, and operational readiness of the high-voltage systems within our Formula 1 Power Unit. Based at the GMPPU Concord facility, this role is critical to ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and precision across all Energy Recovery System (ERS) assembly activities, as well as supporting development, testing and race operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly, servicing, and maintenance of prototype ERS hybrid powertrain components and assemblies, including high voltage battery, control electronics, e-motors and associated sub-systems.
- Prepare ERS assemblies for development testing, dyno operations, and trackside deployment.
- Accurately follow technical drawings, build specifications and assembly procedures, as well as conduct rigorous in-process and final quality checks.
- Capture all component and assembly information within the ERP system to ensure full build and configuration traceability.
- Identify and document quality or assembly-related issues, ensuring faults are logged through internal quality systems.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on capabilities for assembling electronics, live cells and mechanical small to medium parts.
- Strong technical understanding of electronics and safe high-voltage assembly processes.
- Experience in laser welding operations and quality.
- Experience working in an ESD-sensitive and clean-room environment.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Proficiency with ERP systems for work orders and inventory management.
- Experience in motorsport, advanced automotive, aerospace, or high-performance engineering environments is highly desirable.

- Willingness to work in a manufacturing and test environment, including moderate noise levels, variable temperatures, and a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
