We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance and program development for a facility that includes additive manufacturing, chemical laboratories, and industrial operations. This role will build and maintain our ISO *****–aligned Environmental Management System (EMS), oversee chemical and hazardous waste programs, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, SPCC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an ISO *****–aligned EMS, documentation, procedures, and internal audits.
- Oversee environmental controls for metal powders, resins, inert gases, AM ventilation, and waste streams.
- Manage laboratory environmental programs including chemical hygiene, SDSs, chemical storage, and lab waste (solvents, acids/bases, residues).
- Lead hazardous waste management (RCRA), inspections, manifests, and universal waste.
- Manage stormwater/retention pond inspections, wastewater discharges, and sampling requirements.
- Maintain SPCC program, tank inspections, spill prevention, and corrective actions.
- Track air emissions (VOCs, particulates) and support industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Manage environmental permits and complete regulatory reports (Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste, stormwater).
- Deliver training on environmental procedures, chemical handling, waste, and spill response.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of environmental experience in the automotive, motor manufacturing, or vehicle production industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO *****, hazardous waste management, chemical compliance, and environmental permitting.
- Experience with lab chemical hygiene and/or additive manufacturing powders, VOCs, or waste preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing or maintaining an ISO *****–certified Environmental Management System.
- Experience with automotive environmental requirements, testing facilities, or powertrain/motor manufacturing environments.
- Air permitting, emissions tracking, or sustainability reporting experience.
- Industrial hygiene monitoring (dust, VOCs, noise).
Technical Skills:
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Strong communicator able to collaborate with engineering, operations, labs, and AM teams.
- Comfortable building programs from the ground up with minimal direction.
