Key Responsibilities:
• Motor Design: Design and develop high-speed electric motors for the hybrid power unit, focusing on maximizing performance, efficiency, and weight optimization.
• Electromagnetic Analysis: Conduct detailed electromagnetic simulations to optimize motor design parameters, including torque density, efficiency, and thermal characteristics.
• Thermal Management: Develop effective thermal management strategies for electric motors, including cooling systems and heat dissipation methods to maintain optimal operating temperatures during races.
• Integration with Power Unit: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate motor designs seamlessly into the overall power unit architecture while considering weight distribution and center of gravity (CG) optimization.
• Structural Integrity Assessment: Perform structural analysis on motor components to ensure they can withstand the dynamic loads experienced during racing. Utilize finite element analysis (FEA) tools for validation.
• Prototype Development: Oversee the prototyping of motor designs, including testing and validation of performance metrics against design specifications.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for design enhancements and process improvements based on testing outcomes and industry best practices.
• Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports on motor performance characteristics.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on electromagnetics or motor design.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electric motor design or electromagnetic systems within the automotive or motorsport industry. Experience in Formula 1 is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL Multiphysics) for motor design analysis.
• Strong understanding of thermal management principles related to electric motors and power electronics.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5) for creating detailed models and assemblies of motor components.
