GM Performance Power Units is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Cylinder Head Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Concord, NC. This role involves performing processes and procedures that are part of the manufacturing steps for high-performance racing cylinder head production and rebuilding. Precision and attention to detail are a must. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in racing cylinder head manufacturing, a passion for motorsports, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of seats and guides to exact specifications.
  • Perform valve jobs on a single-point CNC seat and guide machine.
  • Perform guide honing with precision.
  • Seat, chamber, and port blending with consistency.
  • Record and track data collected during the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements of critical components using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to environmental and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines.
  • Adapt to changing work environments and competing demands while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Support alternative shift schedules, including weekends, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high-performance or race engine operations with cylinder head responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with cylinder head equipment and tools (Seat and guide machines, handheld grinders, guide hones).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., and using upper body strength for assembly processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precision.
  • Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and methods used in cylinder head manufacturing.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across various organizational levels.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working with 4-valve engine configurations.
