GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Program Cost Analyst to support the development of our Formula 1 Power Unit, specifically the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). Based at the GMPPU Concord facility, this role works closely with the Project Manager and interfaces between technical, supply chain and finance to ensure the best possible use of the budget available under the FIA Cost Cap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ICE project cost planning, tracking, and control for the development and supply of the GMPPU F1 engine for the Cadillac F1 Team
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to translate the ICE project plan and material requirement into an accurate financial forecast, in line with the FIA Financial Regulations
  • Analysis and reconciliation of planned vs. actual and committed costs in close collaboration with finance and controlling teams
  • Maintenance and continuous optimization of the project cost forecast and structure in line with planned ICE development iterations and BOM structure
  • Financial analysis and cost-benefit evaluation supporting make-or-buy decisions
  • Support value chain analysis across internal and external suppliers, including design for manufacture optimization
  • Early identification of budget risks based on project status and proactive development of mitigation measures in close cooperation with the Project Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in project controlling or cost analysis, ideally within a complex, high-performance engineering or R&D environment
  • Proven data management capability, including experience with business intelligence (BI) tools and structured financial analysis
  • Highly analytical, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage interfaces, resolve conflicts, and assertively represent financial perspectives
