Yard Operative

Location: Daventry

Standard Shift: Monday to Friday 0800-1730

Hourly Rate: £12.75-£13.25phr

Status: Permanent

Exceptional opportunity to work for a family run business, working with really great people who are hardworking where no two days are ever the same!

• Keeping the yards and sheds tidy doorways swept and any spillages to be kept to a minimum
• Tipping vehicles into sheds or intake pits and loading lorries with the JCB telehandler. No licence required.
• Previous experience of driving loading shovels advantageous however not essential as full training given. There would also be a requirement to drive yard shunters (HGVs) but no licence required as off public road.
• Setting out aeration ducts in the stores and removing as the shed is emptied making sure to not to damage the ducts.
• Assisting the lab with taking grain samples from the stores and checking grain temperatures.
• Basic lab testing (moisture, specific weight, screenings etc) full training will be provided
• Basic vehicle maintenance on yard vehicles
• Assisting cleaning in and around the processing plants if required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Flexible, adaptable, great work ethic
• Stable employment history
• Ideally experienced within the Agriculture sector specifically grain and hold a validtelehandler or loading shovel licence or similar
