Permanent Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fixing things rather than filling in forms? We are looking for a practical, hands-on Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established business operating within the agriculture production sector. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working with machinery, solving problems, and getting stuck in. You could be working on a breakdown one minute, fabricating a component in the workshop the next, before heading into production to install new equipment. We are particularly interested in engineers who can work independently, use their initiative and aren't afraid to pick up a spanner and work out how to solve a problem. The Role The position will involve a mixture of maintenance, breakdown response, fabrication and new machinery installation, working approximately: 30%
New machinery installation 30%
Breakdown maintenance and fault finding 30%
Fabrication and welding 10%
Planned/preventative maintenance You will spend roughly 50% of your time in the workshop and 50% within production Workshop activities will include using equipment such as: Drills Lathes Guillotines Welding equipment General workshop machinery You will then use the components and equipment prepared in the workshop when carrying out installation and maintenance work within the production environment. What we're looking for We are looking for someone with a genuine hands-on engineering background, ideally with experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, food production or similar environment. Experience with equipment such as the following would be particularly useful: Conveyors Elevators Augers Mechanical handling equipment Production machinery General industrial plant You should be comfortable with: Mechanical fault finding and repair Installing and commissioning machinery Preventative maintenance Fabrication and modification work MIG welding Using general workshop machinery Working safely around production equipment Working independently and as part of a small team MIG welding experience is important. TIG or other welding experience would be a bonus but is not essential . The person We're not looking for someone who simply wants to turn up, complete a maintenance checklist and wait for the next job. We're looking for a practical problem solver who enjoys variety and takes pride in getting machinery back up and running. You will ideally be someone who: Is mechanically minded and technically capable Can diagnose problems and find practical solutions Is confident working without constant supervision Has a \"can-do\" attitude Isn't afraid to get their hands dirty Can fabricate, modify and repair equipment Works well as part of a small team Takes pride in doing a good job Is adaptable and willing to tackle different challenges
