We require a Mason/Multi-skilled mason operative skilled in a broad range of ‘wet trades’ works, so you must have skills and experience in general masonry & associated trade works (for example blocklaying, concreting, repointing, lime works, stone works, drainage, paving, rendering/plastering, light demolitions, setting‑out and so forth).
Any additional qualifications/training in plant operation, first aid and so on will be an advantage. The majority of our projects are typically medium to long term (several weeks to many months) involving alterations, renovations, conversions and rectifications as well as extensions and occasional new builds.
You will work alongside our other skilled staff and specialist subcontractors (like mechanical, electrical and flooring contractors). At times, you may work for weeks or months on one project, following through a project from start to finish and at other times you may move between projects undertaking masonry works as needed and as the work programmes demand.
You must be flexible and able to work independently and cooperatively as part of our site teams. We prefer candidates with a CSCS card for your masonry trade. If you don’t have a CSCS card but you have the necessary qualifications, we will be able to assist you with the CSCS card application.
It is essential that you have a driving license. We will provide a work vehicle, fully equipped with tools for your work. The higher rates of pay advertised are available for candidates with directly applicable previous experience, with a CSCS card and appropriate training. Additional qualifications/training in first aid and other health & safety topics will be an advantage and will impact on the pay rate we can offer.
Our working hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. We are a well‑established, family‑run construction company based in Threemilestone (outside Truro), working throughout central and west Cornwall. We undertake a wide range of works for commercial and private clients. Our commercial clients include National Trust, Cornwall Healthcare Trust, Cornwall Council, and a number of local companies, schools, academies and churches. Typical works include extensions, alterations and refurbishments, works on historic buildings, and occasional new houses.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
