The role

Do you want to make a real difference in people’s lives? We\'re looking for someone passionate, empathetic, and proactive to join our team as a Tenancy Support Practitioner specialising in local lettings.

You’ll work alongside our Landlord Liaison Officer to help people with a history of rough sleeping move into safe, secure homes in the private rented sector. Using a person-centred approach, you’ll support tenants in maintaining their tenancies—helping them feel confident and independent in their new homes. This is a mobile role, so a full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.

Job Requirements

  • Support tenants by assessing their needs and offering tailored, goal-focused support.
  • Help maximise their income through practical advice.
  • Encourage engagement with external services to build life skills and confidence.
  • Promote independence through compassionate, person-first support.
  • Work closely with your team and always be led by empathy.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 12 months’ experience working with adults who have complex needs, such as homelessness, domestic abuse, mental or physical health issues, substance or alcohol use, or learning disabilities.
  • A good understanding of housing, welfare reform, and homelessness issues.
  • Basic IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Someone who is genuine, honest, and empathetic—able to support others without judgment.
  • Professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

We also welcome people with transferable skills and lived experience—your journey can be part of someone else’s success story.

Help us give those without a plan, voice or home to build concrete futures by tackling the issues that keep people from finding their own home. Apply now! Please note, we will be interviewing as we go along and therefore the application may close earlier than stated.

How to prepare for a job interview at Glow

Understanding the Role of Empathy

In social work, understanding and demonstrating empathy is key. Be prepared to share personal experiences or scenarios where you effectively showed compassion and support. This helps show that you genuinely care about the well-being of others, which is crucial in social work.

Demonstrating Knowledge of Frameworks

Familiarise yourself with the frameworks and models used in social work, such as the Strengths-Based Approach or the Ecological Perspective. Be ready to discuss how these frameworks apply to your work, especially if you can tie them into real-world examples or case studies you've encountered.

Showcasing Your Multi-Disciplinary Skills

In a full-time social work role, you'll often collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and law enforcement. Be prepared to describe your teamwork experiences and how you've effectively communicated with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Preparing for Scenario-Based Questions

Expect questions that put you in hypothetical social work situations, such as dealing with a crisis or managing a complex case. Think through your thought process for these scenarios beforehand, considering how you'd assess the situation and what steps you'd take, as this demonstrates your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
