The role
This person will be responsible for providing a good quality, cost effective meal service in our Extra Care and Sheltered Housing Villages.
Job Requirements
- Assist the Catering Team Leader in delivering a high-quality, cost-effective meal service.
- Assist in the preparation and planning of menus with attention to providing a variety of healthy and nutritious meals, light refreshments, snacks and drinks.
- Undertake all tasks in relation to preparation and cooking in a busy environment prioritising tasks as you go.
- Maintain the highest standards of food preparations and service of menu and short order food.
- Undertake stock control and processing of food delivery orders making sure that food is appropriately stored.
- Work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and operation of the kitchen, service and dining areas.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified in Level 2 Food Hygiene or above (updated training will be available where necessary).
- 1-2 years minimum experience in a similar role, preparing, cooking, and delivering a high-quality service and food standard.
- Passion for great food and excellent customer service.
- Experience and knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexible approach able to work a variety of days, shifts, and locations to cover service requirements.
- DBS check needed.
