The Role of the Private Client Solicitor
- Conduct matters on behalf of clients in Private Client Law and related matters
- Maintain orderly and up-to-date files including electronic files and complying with the companies’ policies on file management
- Financial control including managing cash flow for the team through efficient billing and payment procedures
- Recognising fee-earning opportunities and developing those opportunities
- Compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Code of Conduct and the Money Laundering Regulations in accordance with current guidance from the SRA and the company
- Identifying and meeting job-related training and development targets
- Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team
The Ideal Private Client Solicitor will possess:
- Solicitor qualification with 4+ years PQE in Private Client work
- STEP qualification desirable
- Experience in all aspects of Private Client Law - including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, probate and contentious probate, inheritance tax and estate planning.
- Ability to carry out case work accurately without supervision
- Excellent communication and personal skills
- A network of existing contacts
- Ability to build the client base and help market the company’s wider services
- Self-motivated and clear thinking
