Gloucestershire Managed Services is seeking a Head of Governance to strengthen our corporate governance framework, provide high-quality support to Board Committees and Executive Leadership, and ensure robust assurance and risk oversight.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead governance, assurance, and risk management processes across GMS
  • Maintain the Board Assurance Framework (BAF) and corporate risk register
  • Oversee Board and Committee administration and reporting
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activity and track recommendations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Executive Directors and Committee Chairs

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong governance or risk management experience in complex or regulated organisations
  • Experience supporting Board/Committee governance processes
  • Excellent analytical and written communication skills
  • Confidence to influence, challenge constructively, and build senior relationships
  • A governance, audit, or risk qualification (desirable)
