Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking a senior fire safety leader to join our Senior Leadership Team and take corporate responsibility for fire safety governance across a complex healthcare estate. This is a strategic role with Board-level visibility, regulatory engagement and budget ownership.

What You'll Deliver

  • Lead and continuously improve the Fire Safety Management System.
  • Ensure statutory compliance (including HTM Firecode).
  • Embed fire safety within corporate risk, audit, and assurance frameworks.
  • Oversee fire risk assessments, audits, KPIs and assurance reporting.
  • Lead regulatory engagement and represent GMS at system-level forums.
  • Lead GMS fire safety engagement with Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust under service level arrangements.
  • Embed fire safety in capital developments and contractor management.
  • Provide leadership during major incidents.
  • Lead and develop the fire safety team.

About You

A senior fire safety professional with multi-site, safety-critical experience. Strategically minded, confident advising Boards and regulators, and able to influence at Executive level. NHS or public sector experience desirable, but not essential.

Shape fire safety strategy and assurance across Gloucestershire's healthcare estate.
