Gloucestershire Royal & Cheltenham General Hospitals – cross-site with some hybrid flexibility from £41,563 - £48,863 dependent on experience | Permanent | 37.5 hours

A hands-on fire safety role where you’re out on site, solving real issues.

We’re looking for a Fire Safety Officer to join GMS, working across a large and complex healthcare estate. This is a role where you won’t be behind a desk – you’ll be out in clinical areas, plant rooms and departments, helping to identify risks, support teams and keep environments safe and compliant.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out fire risk assessments, inspections and audits
  • Supporting fire drills and evacuation planning
  • Investigating incidents, near misses and alarm activations
  • Advising teams on practical, proportionate fire safety measures
  • Delivering training and supporting fire wardens
  • Working with Estates and contractors to maintain safe environments

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in fire safety, estates or a related compliance role
  • Confidence in carrying out risk assessments or inspections
  • The ability to give clear, practical advice in operational settings
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach
  • An interest in continuing to develop your technical expertise
