A hands-on fire safety role where you’re out on site, solving real issues. We’re looking for a Fire Safety Officer to join GMS, working across a large and complex healthcare estate. This is a role where you won’t be behind a desk – you’ll be out in clinical areas, plant rooms and departments, helping to identify risks, support teams and keep environments safe and compliant.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out fire risk assessments, inspections and audits
- Supporting fire drills and evacuation planning
- Investigating incidents, near misses and alarm activations
- Advising teams on practical, proportionate fire safety measures
- Delivering training and supporting fire wardens
- Working with Estates and contractors to maintain safe environments
What we’re looking for
- Experience in fire safety, estates or a related compliance role
- Confidence in carrying out risk assessments or inspections
- The ability to give clear, practical advice in operational settings
