We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hearing Services Department at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust, in the Head of Service role. The post holder is responsible for the strategic management and planning of the Trust’s County Audiology Services within the framework of its policies and priorities.

The post holder will operate in partnership with other senior clinical and operational leads across all Audiology services to lead and develop the provision of routine and complex diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology for both Paediatrics and Adults.

The post holder will provide highly visible and accessible professional leadership and operational management demonstrating expert knowledge and standards of clinical and operational practice / procedures.

The post holder will perform a range of highly specialist audiological activities as Lead Specialist in Audiology.

This role offers a great and unique opportunity to provide leadership to the innovative Audiology department.

Main duties of the job

  1. The post holder is responsible for the operational management of all Audiology Services, in relation to all aspects of operational performance across all Gloucestershire sites.
  2. To hold responsibility for delivering high quality services in line with the clinical governance and quality agenda.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Active registration with the HCPC
  • Active registration with the AHCS
  • United Kingdom recognised MSc Audiological Science or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post qualification experience in Advanced Clinical Audiology
  • Experience of management at operational level
  • Experience of budget, staff and target management

Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience in current trends in Audiology and Quality Standards
  • Able to motivate and lead a team
  • Knowledge of the IQIPS accreditation process
  • Demonstrates ability to use clinical reasoning skills and techniques to assess, diagnose, plan and offer a range of treatment options deliver, evaluate and amend the treatment plan
