An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our inpatient therapy team at Cirencester Community Hospital for a fixed term of 9 months. The post is ward based at the hospital, providing Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to inpatients.

We are looking for a person who is passionate about supporting people to regain their independence following a period of illness or injury. As a team we are committed to enabling people to improve their function and quality of life; where possible returning home. The post holder is expected to have day to day operational and supervisory responsibility for more junior staff and rehabilitation assistants, providing leadership, clinical support and training as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assess, formulate, evaluate and monitor specialised rehabilitation packages which will involve complex decision making within the Community Hospital. This role will require negotiation and co-ordination of a number of team members to deliver the specialised rehabilitation programmes to the patients on the ward.

The post holder will be required to provide leadership and support to the rehabilitation assistants, health care assistants and other staff within the MDT, clinical support and training as appropriate.

All aspects of clinical duties will be carried out as an autonomous practitioner, with access to guidance from specialised clinicians within the Trust.
