Our ideal candidate for this role is organised and hardworking with good communication and people skills.

Our strong emphasis on workforce wellbeing means you will be working in a team that seeks to create a collaborative and compassionate culture focused on delivering an efficient and effective service for the people of Gloucestershire.

As a trainee psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP), you will learn skills in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to support people with common mental health problems (such as anxiety and depression). You will work in our clinical service, whilst undertaking a taught Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT) delivered by the University of Exeter. The course will consist of part remote working and part in-person attendance at a venue in Bristol (to be confirmed).

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Learning theoretical knowledge of CBT and applying this in clinical practice
  • Providing treatment to support people with their mental health
  • Facilitating psychoeducational courses
  • Undertaking initial assessments
  • Providing one-to-one treatment
  • Receiving caseload and clinical skills supervision

We predominantly deliver treatment over the telephone and online, with some psychoeducational courses and appointments being offered in person. You will also work closely with GPs and professionals in Primary Care settings to improve access and develop resources aimed at promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing.
