The Deputy Social Care Manager supports the Integrated Social Care Manager and oversees day‑to‑day team operations, ensuring supervision, workload management, quality assurance and effective deployment of budget, staff and resources. The role blends frontline practice with strategic planning and team leadership within a multidisciplinary environment.
We are seeking a candidate with line management experience and a proven track record of leading social work teams in statutory or adult social care settings. The ideal applicant will demonstrate:
- Substantial experience with vulnerable adults or comparable statutory health or social care experience.
- Strong leadership skills, able to model engagement and support across challenging circumstances, including collaboration with partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Experience conducting line management duties such as appraisals and formal performance management.
- Ability to make financial decisions within allocated team budgets.
- Updated knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and procedures affecting adult social care.
Inspirational leadership, ability to build strong internal and external relationships, and a commitment to the council’s values are essential.
Suitable candidates will possess:
