We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to come and join our team! Gloucestershire Equipment Loan Service (GELS) has a great opportunity for a full time Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Hempsted in Gloucester.

About The Role

GELS plays an important role in supporting the care sector in Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the distribution, delivery, installation, collection, maintenance and minor adaptations of medical and telecare equipment to support people being discharged from hospital and to help people to remain independent in their own home. The service is delivered on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and One Gloucestershire.

Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Supporting the Warehouse team to deliver an efficient and effective service
  • Moving equipment through the warehouse process
  • Allocating workflow and producing workflow documents
  • Undertaking stock takes
  • Operating machinery such as wash plant, steam cleaner and power tools
  • Inputting data to IT systems and manual records
  • Answering enquiries from customers and internal colleagues

This is a great opportunity to join an established and supportive team, making a difference to people in Gloucestershire. You would be working alongside other Warehouse Assistants, Team Leaders, our Logistics teams of drivers and assistants, and an administration team.

About You

We are looking for someone who has ideally worked in a high volume service driven transport, warehouse or production environment and has experience of these processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will also have experience of working in a team and be happy working independently. If you have a positive, can-do attitude and can remain calm and professional in challenging situations, this could be the job for you!
