About the Role…


Do you have a genuine passion for History, culture and providing outstanding customer service? If so, there’s never been a more exciting time to join the Museum of Gloucester team!


As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you will be at the heart of our dynamic cultural venue, exhibiting various exciting collection items from Gloucester’s past. You will form a key part of our Visitor Experience Team, being the first face visitors and residents meet as they walk through our doors.


What we need from you…


As a Visitor Experience Assistant you will possess strong interpersonal skills, helping you to offer a lasting, memorable experience to all our customers from the moment they walk through our doors and to the moment they depart. You will help tell the story of Gloucester and its history through our exhibitions and engagement activities.


Working as part of a team, to ensure the museum is aways kept clean and presentable for visitors. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and will put this to use when helping stock our gift shop and café.


You will assist with our events and hire in the Wheatstone Hall including setting up the space, helping to ensure the event runs smoothly and completing resets.


You will maintain a strong awareness of health and safety procedures and will undertake duties including fire warden and first aid. Successful completion of Evac Chair Operator Training will be a condition of appointment, this will be tested early within the probation period.


The Museum of Gloucester is open weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays and some evenings for private events. The successful applicant will be able to work flexibily when required.
