Are you looking for your next step in your Social Work management career? Adult Social Care has an exciting opportunity for a full time (37 hours) Deputy Social Care Manager position within our Tewkesbury Locality Team. This role is a combination of frontline and strategic level management.
About the Role:
Under the direction of the Integrated Social Care Manager, the Deputy Social Care Manager (DSCM) is responsible for ensuring the team’s social work practice and values, to deliver positive outcomes. The DSCM will achieve this through ensuring team arrangements are in place for supervision, workload management, quality assurance and the effective deployment of the budget, staff and additional resources. This is an interesting and varied role within an established and supportive team that are motivated, passionate and engaged. There is a full complement of management in the team which consists of an Integrated Social Care Manager, Social Work Leads and a Social Care Lead. Other team members include qualified Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, Adult Social Care Practitioners and an administration team. Being part of this service means that you have a supportive established network of peers that encourages regular communication and a platform for collaborative solutions, with opportunities to develop further excellent working relationships with professionals from across the council and other agencies.
About You:
We are looking for an individual who has experience in line management within a multi-disciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Substantial experience of working with vulnerable adults or evidence of transferable experience in a statutory health or adult social care setting
- Effective leadership, providing support and modelling engagement in the most challenging of circumstances, including with partner agencies, stakeholders and other professionals
- Experience in undertaking line management duties, including appraisal and formal performance management of staff
- Experience of financial decision making in the context of managing allocated team budgets
- Significant up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures
