This is a Gloucestershire County Council job located at Shire Hall, Gloucester. The contract type is permanent and the closing date for applications is 14/12/2025. This post is not open to job share.

We have full-time Social Worker opportunities in our Gloucester Locality Team based in the heart of the city of Gloucester, with great access routes to the M5. We offer a mix of office, community, and home working and have free staff parking when working in the office. If you are a qualified Social Worker in the UK and looking to move to Gloucestershire, we offer a relocation allowance of up to £8,000 subject to qualifying conditions.

About you

As well as your experience as a frontline social worker, you will need:

  • Social Work England registration
  • To have passed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE – applicable since 2012) or have an equivalent qualification or 2+ years post qualifying statutory experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • A clean and valid driving licence (exceptions under the Equality Act may apply)
