Are you passionate about playing a vital role in saving lives? If so, you may be a perfect fit for the Road Safety team in Gloucestershire County Council. As a Senior Road Safety Engineer, you will have the opportunity to shape and implement road safety projects and policies that can prevent injuries and save lives.
About The Team & Role:
You will work in a team tasked with reducing road traffic casualties in the county of Gloucestershire, managing road safety schemes, analysing collision data, speed management, research studies, providing safety reviews of highway design proposals and undertaking Road Safety Audits.
You will work with us to implement road safety strategies and meet casualty reduction targets by managing road safety schemes, providing advice to colleagues and external partner organisations and reviewing applications to changes in the operation of the highway in terms of speed limits etc.
You will support the Principal Road Safety Engineer by supervising members of the team to deliver work and policy objectives. You will develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other GCC teams and external partner organisations to deliver road safety solutions.
You will work with local, regional, and national interest groups in liaison with internal GCC teams to help in the evolution, innovation and promotion of safe, healthy and sustainable travel for all road users.

About You:
You will have knowledge and appreciation of the Safe System. You will have strong knowledge and experience in improving road safety including requirements for ensuring highway design meets standards and guidance and provides safe solutions for all road users.
You will have experience in collision data analysis and deriving solutions to road safety issues. You will be able to undertake Road Safety Audits including being qualified in accordance with GG119.
You will have experience of managing projects and have excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure our service levels are maintained. You will need to have a customer-focused nature to help build working relationships with your stakeholders.
