About the Role
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person‑centred approach for providing long‑term support to people with learning disabilities and autism, including those with mental health conditions, who display or may be at risk of developing behaviours of concern. The PBS Assistant Practitioner works in partnership with PBS Practitioners and PBS Specialists to support the development of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Functional Assessments; this will include working with individuals, their families, carers and other professionals and organisations. The PBS Assistant Practitioner will also work across the county to develop knowledge around PBS frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of BSPs and Functional Assessments in partnership with PBS Practitioners and Specialists.
- Work with individuals, families, carers and other professionals across the county.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of PBS frameworks and service improvement.
- Participate in training and support sessions to further develop knowledge and skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ4 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of legislative and Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, theory and practice, including PBS competencies outlined by the PBS Academy.
- Highly organised with a solution‑focused, logical and innovative approach to challenges.
- Ability to prioritise work using a risk‑based approach.
