About The Team & Role:
In this role, you will manage and deliver traffic engineering projects from design to procurement and construction. You will produce designs and contract documents that are in accordance with standards and guidelines. You will have a keen interest in and a commitment to road safety and sustainability.
You will be the designer and supervise other colleagues in producing engineering solutions for both urban and rural environments, that will improve road safety and infrastructure for walking, cycling and buses. You will provide solutions applying relevant standards, innovation and give cost effectiveness. As required, you will undertake the role of site supervisor and/or the NEC4 PM during the construction phase. You will ensure that health and safety regulations are applied to all projects including the CDM Regulations 2015.
You will build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders so that council and project objectives are met. This position offers a career progression pathway opportunity that allows you to increase your knowledge, skills and responsibilities to achieve the requirements of the higher grade.
About You:
You will be committed to sustainable travel principles and the impact of engineering on environmental issues. As an experienced engineer, you'll bring innovative design solutions to life, ensuring successful delivery, value for money, greater safety and sustainability. You will have substantial experience in highway and traffic engineering projects that improve sustainable travel including for example the design of cycling infrastructure in accordance with current standards.
Be proficient in project programming and resource management. You will have a track record of effective stakeholder collaboration. You will have experience of producing contract documents and working with contractors. You will have experience of applying the CDM Regulations 2015. You will be proficient in AutoCAD and other technical design software.
You will be committed to health, safety, welfare, and equal opportunities, and you can work under pressure to meet deadlines.
