We are currently seeking a Green Skills Project Support Officer to join the Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub.
About the Role & Team
You will be supporting our Careers Hub team, based within the Employment and Skills Hub at Gloucestershire County Council. This exciting role will focus on developing and promoting accessible information on careers within the clean energy and green economy. You will research and map local and national education and training pathways, helping students, job seekers and those looking to upskill understand how to access opportunities in green careers. In this role you will work closely with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and wider partners to promote green skills pathways and raise awareness of careers in areas such as clean energy, retrofit, carbon reduction and environmental sustainability. You will also contribute to the development of engaging resources, support events and outreach activity, and ensure that information is accessible, up-to-date and relevant to a range of audiences.
About You
We are seeking an organised and proactive individual who can work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including education providers, employers and community organisations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong research and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and creatively across a variety of platforms. You will be confident working with data and labour market information to identify trends and translate these into useful resources. Ideally you will have an understanding of education and training pathways, including apprenticeships and technical routes, along with an interest in sustainability, clean energy or green skills. You will be able to manage competing priorities, build effective relationships and engage diverse audiences, including those underrepresented in green sectors. We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of AI tools, including prompt engineering. You will use these tools to create clear and engaging pathways for job seekers and individuals looking to upskill. A critical approach to AI outputs, including awareness of data quality and ethical considerations, will be a positive advantage.
