We are currently recruiting for a Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join our dedicated Leaving Care team in Gloucester on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

About the role

You will join us as a Leaving Care Worker (Personal Adviser) and will work with a caseload of young people developing plans enabling young people to transition into adulthood. You will be expected to work alongside Social Workers to ensure a smooth and supported transition when they come to leave care. Your core focus will be to work with young people, enabling them to develop independence skills. You will provide care leavers with practical and emotional support. You will be committed to working in a multi-agency manner, thus providing quality services and outcomes for young people, as they transition into adulthood and independent living. You will be a skilled communicator enabling you to build up effective working relationships with a variety of young people from different backgrounds. The role may also at times involve supporting and leading group work sessions and encouraging and developing the participation of young people in shaping the services we deliver.

About you

As well as your experience, there are some things we require of you to be successfully appointed to this post:

  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • DBS clearance (Enhanced Adults and Childrens)
