Job Overview
At Gloucestershire County Council we manage street works across the county, a front‑facing service that controls and maintains roadworks to minimise disruption.
The Senior Roadspace Coordinator will support the coordination and management of the Street Works and Road Works Permitting scheme, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations and coordinating works to reduce disruption to the travelling public.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage street works across Gloucestershire, working closely with local authorities, transport agencies and utility contractors.
- Ensure all works activities on the Council’s highway network are legally compliant and coordinated to minimise disruption.
- Represent Council at Regional JAG / HAUC and national meetings as required.
- Build and maintain successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Make informed decisions under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in street works and a strong understanding of relevant systems, regulations and principles.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in relevant street works software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build working relationships.
- Capable of working under pressure and making informed decisions.
- Fluent English; able to demonstrate ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence (Legal requirement under Immigration Act 2016).
