An exciting opportunity is available to join a growing team of friendly and well-respected professionals who are committed to ensuring parent carers and young people with SEND have their voices heard and receive accurate and helpful information and advice. SENDIASS Gloucestershire is a specialist service offering free, impartial, confidential information, advice and support on matters around SEND. The service is offered to parent carers of children with SEND (0-25 years) and young people aged between 16 and 25 to help them play an active and informed role in supporting their child or the young person's education.
The Service covers Gloucestershire and works in partnership with parent carers and young people, Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum, Gloucestershire County Council, Integrated Care Board, educational settings and other key agencies working with children and young people up to the age of 25. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated Advisers. These roles involve directly working with parent carers to provide impartial information, advice and support regarding their child with SEND.
Key Responsibilities- Engage and work with parent carers, ensuring they have accurate, timely information and support while being fully aware of the challenges they face.
- Liaise with partner agencies to facilitate comprehensive support for the child or young person.
- Experience engaging and working with parent carers.
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Ability to fulfil spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English (Immigration Act 2016).
- Complete IPSEA Level 1 Legal Training as part of the role and work towards IPSEA Level 3 within 12 months of starting.
