Gloucestershire Equipment Loan Service (GELS) plays an important role in supporting the care sector in Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the refurbishment, distribution, delivery, collection and maintenance of equipment to support people being discharged from hospital and to help people to remain independent in their own home. The service is delivered on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and One Gloucestershire.
Responsibilities
- Unloading medical equipment for refurbishment from vans
- Operating machinery to sanitise scrap items
- Loading & unloading of equipment through the refurbishment process
- Using a scanner to move items to their correct locations on internal systems
- Ensuring Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to when undertaking the role
- The routine renovation of products in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions
- Reporting plant or machinery breakdowns to the Team Leader
