Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to play a key role within Gloucestershire County Council's Public Rights of Way (PROW) team? This post supports the delivery of high-quality operational services across the county's path network, helping to ensure it remains safe, accessible and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- As a PROW Works Coordinator, you will design and deliver a range of work schemes across the network, including paths, drainage and structures.
- You will manage materials and stock, ensure compliance with highways procedures, and maintain strong health and safety practices in line with legal requirements and best practice.
- Working closely with colleagues, contractors, landowners and volunteers, you will coordinate works and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, supporting the delivery of improvements across the PROW network.
About You
- You will take a lead role in coordinating larger projects and schemes, supporting Area Officers in the design, delivery and implementation of works to maintain and improve the path network, including drainage, surfacing and structures such as bridges.
- You will have experience in practical countryside management or PROW/highways construction, along with a strong understanding of health and safety processes and risk assessment.
- You will be confident coordinating projects and supporting others, with experience of working with stakeholders such as landowners, contractors and volunteers.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills are essential, as is the ability to deliver a high standard of customer service.
- An awareness of PROW legislation and its practical application is desirable, along with knowledge of first aid.
- You will have a proven track record in managing projects and record keeping.
