About The Team & Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the council’s People Services Team as a Human Resources (HR) Adviser Apprentice. In People Services we support the organisation’s workforce, culture and employee relations. We lead on areas including recruitment, training, policy development, employee relations and change management.

You’ll help make a difference as a HR Adviser Apprentice by supporting HR/OD Advisers and managers to develop and implement proactive HR solutions. You will make and present evidence-based decisions for people solutions, carrying out research to support your recommendations. You’ll provide advice and guidance to managers on people related issues, in line with policies and employment law, and you’ll maintain and develop people policies. In this role, you will gain experience of all areas of People Services. We will support you to develop your knowledge and skills and you will study towards the People Professional Level 5 Apprenticeship.

About you

To be successful you will need good organisational skills and be able to plan and prioritise your own workload. You will bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide a wide range of support to colleagues and managers, and you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers. You will bring your creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions, and you will have a flexible and adaptable approach to challenges.
