Responsibilities
- Cremation Technician
- Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
Complete all cremation documentation accurately and maintain detailed records.
Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance of crematory equipment.
Ensure the secure and respectful handling of ashes throughout the cremation process.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Chapel Attendant
- Prepare chapels and service areas for funerals and memorial services.
Welcome funeral directors, clergy, celebrants, and mourners in a professional and compassionate manner.
Assist with funeral services, including operating audiovisual equipment and chapel systems.
Ensure services run smoothly while maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
Support families and visitors by providing guidance and assistance when required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism when interacting with bereaved families.
- Be comfortable working with cremation equipment and funeral services (full training can be provided if the relevant qualification is not held).
- Possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a practical approach to problem‑solving and attention to detail.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable).
- Must have confidence in fluent English to fulfil the spoken aspects of the role.
