Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Commercial Officer to support the delivery of high-quality procurement, contract management, and commercial services across the Traffic and Transport teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the Council achieves value for money, delivers excellent services for residents, and develops strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
About the Role
As a Commercial Officer, you will
- Support procurement and commissioning activities across a range of service areas within Traffic & Transport
- Assist with contract management and supplier performance monitoring.
- Provide commercial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to tender exercises and procurement projects.
- Analyse financial and performance data to support decision-making.
- Help ensure compliance with procurement legislation, Council policies, and best practice.
About You
We are looking for someone who has
- Experience in procurement, contract management, commercial support, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract regulations would be an advantage.
