About the Team and Role

Are you looking for a new exciting challenge working with the Structural Maintenance Team? The County Council is looking to recruit an Assistant Engineer who will work alongside our Design Engineers, assisting with the selection, design and delivery of an annual programme of carriageway and footway resurfacing works, improving the highway network for Gloucestershire residents. The role also supports the wider highway team by providing treatment advice and cost estimates for the highways service. The role provides a balance of site and office-based activities.

About You

As Assistant Engineer, you will be supporting the Structural Maintenance Team, operating right across the County. There is a variety of work estimating future scheme costs, ordering works from our Resurfacing and Term Maintenance Contractors as well as carrying out site checks during the delivery phase. You should have relevant experience in highways, emergency management and be committed to excellent customer service.
