Gloucester Guildhall is looking for a 22 hour week Food & Drink Shift Leader to join the team. Located in a Grade II Listed Building in Gloucester city centre, Gloucester Guildhall presents a variety of events, from live music and comedy to immersive performances and workshops. With six spaces available to hire for meetings and conferences and a beautiful cinema, no one day is the same. The Guildhall Café/Bar facilitates a food and drink service that caters for all aspects of this cultural venue, with a commercial kitchen and two bar openings.

Gloucester Guildhall operates seven days a week in line with our cultural programme. Depending on the schedule, the building can open from 8:30 am and remain active late into the evening—sometimes until 10 pm, midnight, or even the early hours.

In this role, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team of casual and agency staff, providing leadership, direction and hands‑on support. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant sale of alcohol across our bars, as well as overseeing food preparation and service within our catering offer. Your shifts will vary between daytime and evening work, giving you the chance to support a wide range of activities. One day you might be preparing a buffet for corporate clients, the next serving drinks and snacks to cinema audiences, or helping deliver a fast‑paced bar service for 400+ attendees at one of our live events. Every shift brings something different, and your contribution will help ensure our visitors have a great experience.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Food & Drink Shift Leader. In this role you will oversee the daily operations of our food and drink services, working frontline and ensuring high standards of customer service and efficiency. You will be confident, pro‑active, and take initiative when leading a shift. You will pay attention to the small details that make a big difference, adapt swiftly to changing situations, and handle unexpected challenges with ease. You will bring energy and enthusiasm to your work, motivating those around you. Flexibility is essential, as hours will vary week by week to meet the needs of our programme of events.
