About the Roles & Team

The Area Finance Team is a busy team providing training, financial advice, support and practical assistance to schools throughout Gloucestershire. The role involves working at an operational level with school finance staff, visiting schools to offer 1 to 1 finance support and training. You will be assisting in delivering training courses to school finance staff. Training courses are delivered at Shire Hall. You will also be visiting schools throughout Gloucestershire to undertake finance tasks due to sickness or a vacant position in a school. We run an office-based dedicated helpline, which you will be manning with a colleague one day a week, and some sessions during school holidays.

About You

We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated professional with proven experience in accounting procedures and customer care. Experience of school’s finance & FMS/Bromcom finance software is an advantage. Experience of working within a school finance setting is desirable. MUST hold a full driving licence and have access to a car during all working hours; please DO NOT APPLY if you do not meet this requirement.

About Us

Our team supports schools with their finance tasks and strategic financial planning. The role is for a permanent contract for 28 hours per week, Term time only with 1 inset week and 1 further holiday working week spread through the year: 40 weeks per year, with a prorated salary. The full-time equivalent of 0.6662 or 0.6811 (if currently employed at GCC with 5 years service).
