About Us

The Gloucestershire EPS applies specialist knowledge to support children, young people, schools, and families across Gloucestershire. Our mission is to find solutions and improve outcomes for children and young people through partnership.

Our Values:

  • Align with the recent BPS Campaign (October 2024) for equitable access to EPs in England
  • Ensure every maintained education setting has a linked Educational Psychologist, free at the point of delivery
  • Focus on retaining Educational Psychologists in local authority employment with a fully funded workforce plan
  • Promote early intervention and preventative support for children and families within a truly inclusive education system

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work in an exciting and growing consultation service
  • A variety of work in both rural and urban settings
  • A strong CPD programme and training opportunities
  • An established programme of professional supervision and peer support
  • A range of generic and specialist work within the 0-25 age range in all types of educational settings
  • Salary on Soulbury Scale 5-10 (+3 SPA points)
  • A welcome package including recruitment and retention payment* (currently pending)

We believe that psychologists are most effective when they have enough time to do a range of work in schools/settings. Our planning/consultation model offers a wide core offer to all schools and settings in the county, alongside a comprehensive workforce development offer and strategic projects. Our initiatives include mental health in schools, ELSA and ELKLAN, and promoting functional skills and independence for young people. To support our growth, we have received funding to increase the size of the EPS, allowing EPs to spend more time in schools and settings, building relationships and promoting projects and the wider application of psychology within education.
