Join Gloucestershire County Council in a vital role within our Children in Care teams based in Cheltenham and Stroud. We are dedicated to providing remarkable lives for disadvantaged and vulnerable children, and we need passionate professionals to help realise this vision.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Manage a caseload of children who may have plans for adoption, special guardianship, long-term fostering, or returning home to family.
  • Act as a corporate parent: undertake direct work, get to know the children and their families, and ensure they have access to excellent health, education, and stable homes.
  • Advocate for the children, supporting them and their surrounding network, including foster carers and family, to ensure better lifelong outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the service and partner agencies to deliver a first-class service and ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work.
  • Must have passed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Experience as a frontline social worker, with a strong focus on children\’s welfare.
