Children and Families Advanced Practitioner

We are currently seeking an Advanced Practitioner to join our Children and Families teams in the Forest of Dean on a permanent part-time basis.

Role Overview

As an Advanced Practitioner you will hold an expert role within your team, facilitating the team and service’s ability to develop and deliver complex social work practice through joint working, practice advice and guidance, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Gloucestershire’s relational systemic practice model and promote practice standards across the team
  • Provide direction to team members around improving quality of practice, including quality assuring assessments or attending joint visits with social workers
  • Provide monthly reflective supervision to Newly Qualified Social Workers and undertake practice observations (management of NQSW sits with Team Managers)
  • Support Social Work students within the team
  • Joint lead for a particular area of practice offering a weekly consultation to practitioners from across the service
  • Work closely with the Social Work Academy through regular forums and training to ensure standardized practice across the teams
  • Hold a small number of cases, ensuring dedicated time to follow other duties

Qualifications and Experience

  • Social Work England/Wales registration
  • Experience at Senior Social Worker level
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work
  • Completed ASYE year (if qualified after 2012)
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (Enhanced Adults and Children’s)
