As an Employer Adviser with Connect to Work, you'll be the vital link between individuals facing barriers to employment and employers. You'll build strong partnerships across Gloucestershire, engage proactively with employers, and support people to sustain meaningful employment.

About the Role

Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub offers a one-stop source of information, advice, guidance and support around employment and skills. Working with a range of partners and employers in localities across Gloucestershire, the Hub delivers 1:1 support through a number of programmes for people with barriers to entering, re-entering or retaining work, as well as advice and signposting for any resident looking for help. As an Employer Adviser, you'll operate in a target-driven, outward-facing role focused on generating job opportunities and achieving sustainable employment outcomes. You'll proactively build a pipeline of employers, using a consultative sales approach to identify vacancies, understand business needs, and promote inclusive recruitment. Working closely with Employment Specialists, you'll match candidates to suitable roles and support successful placements. You'll influence employers, address barriers to hiring, and position Connect to Work as a trusted recruitment partner. You'll also provide ongoing account management, supporting job starts and retention through practical advice such as reasonable adjustments. Alongside this, you'll use labour market insight to target sectors, grow employer networks, and maximise opportunities. Above all, you'll bring a strong values-driven approach, with a genuine belief that everyone who wants to work can work. You'll be committed to challenging perceptions, advocating for individuals, and working with employers to create opportunities that are inclusive, sustainable, and meaningful.

About You

You're a proactive and motivated individual who thrives on building relationships and achieving outcomes and will be confident engaging with employers and influencing at all levels. Experience in partnership working, business development, recruitment or account management would be an advantage. You'll bring a strong understanding of employment practices, recruitment processes, and the challenges faced by individuals who experience barriers to work. You're comfortable working in a target-driven environment, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build trust quickly with employers, colleagues and participants. You are organised, adaptable, and able to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team. Whether through professional or lived experience, you are committed to supporting individuals to overcome barriers and succeed in employment.
