About the Team and Role
This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, focusing our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities. We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided) following an initial period of training in the office. This Business Support Officer role is based at the Front Door of Children’s Social Care and is situated within the Business Support function of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a Temporary role for 7 months for the remainder of a Maternity cover. The Front Door/MASH plays an integral part in supporting Gloucestershire’s most vulnerable children and families, as well as being the first contact point for professionals and members of the public.
The main responsibilities for this role include:
- Gathering, analysing, and summarising information about children and families to support timely and informed safeguarding decisions within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.
- Monitoring generic mailboxes, picking up and actioning tasks.
- Preparing documents in Microsoft Word and updating spreadsheets in Excel.
- Creating and uploading documents to our bespoke database, Liquid Logic (full training will be provided).
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies, prioritising referrals, and producing accurate reports that help identify potential risks and support the safeguarding of vulnerable children.
