About The Team & Role

Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub provide a central point of information, guidance, and support for both residents and businesses. Our mission is to help local people access training and employment opportunities, while supporting employers to find the right people with the right skills. We are a passionate team of professionals dedicated to helping individuals achieve their learning and career goals.

We are now seeking two Employment Advisers to support the delivery of the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) Drugs and Alcohol Programme across Gloucestershire. In this role, you will provide advice, guidance and 1:1 support for people recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction who require support to move into employment through accessing the new Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Drugs and Alcohol Service.

About You

Your strong communication skills will enable you to build effective partnerships across a wide range of stakeholders, including other GCC teams, ViA and other clinical services. These relationships will help expand the skills, knowledge, and employment opportunities available to the people we support.

Experience of working within a fidelity-based model, such as IPS is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will also be responsible for developing an employment support pathway within each district, so having access to a vehicle is desirable. If you meet the criteria and are enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to form strong, productive relationships, we would love to hear from you.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community by helping people build confidence, independence, and a route into sustainable employment. We provide a supportive, well-established team environment, along with regular training, development opportunities, and ongoing supervision.

About Us

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities
  • 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years continuous service
  • An option to purchase 10 days of additional leave per year (pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Family friendly employer offering benefits to help support you and your family
  • Career development and qualification opportunities
  • Supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision
  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
  • An in-house Occupational Health service
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&Cs apply)
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
